摘要
Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of titanium nitride coating on friction of domestic orthodontic bracket. Methods Titanium nitride coating was deposited into domestic stainless steel edgewise brackets by multi-arc ion plat-ing method. The brackets were divided into the experimental group(titanium nitride coated)and the control group(titani-um nitride un-coated), and there were 7 brackets in each group. The dynamic and static friction between the 0.41 mm (0.016 inch) wires and brackets of two groups in the dry and wet state were measured by Instron Tester. Results The result demonstrated that the static and dynamic friction of experimental group was less than control group both in dry and wet state, and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion Under the dry and wet state, the TiN coat-ing can reduce the static and dynamic friction between the brackets and wires.关键词
