Abstract

Tannery belongs to typical industrial branches which during the technological process produce considerable quantities of liquid and solid wastes contributing to polluting the environment. The presented work describes dechromation of waste tanning liquor utilising chrome sludge produced through enzymatic hydrolysis of chrome-tanned leather wastes. The principle of dechromation consists in sorption of chrome from waste liquor after tanning to chrome sludge. Recycling technology is characterised by an almost 99% efficiency, simplicity and low investment requirements.
