摘要

Abstract

Objective To observe biodegradable conditon of three - dimensional PGA fleece scaffolds seeded with allogenic chonclrocytes in the formative process of tissue engineered cartilage. Method Chondrocytes obtained from rib cartilage of infant rabbits within one week by collagenase digestion were seeded onto PGA fleece scaffolds by specific design to construct complexes. Next, the complixes were cultured in vitro and implanted subcutaneously or used to repair cartilage defect. Finally, biodegradable conditon of PGA fibers in the formative process of new cartilage was observed in various period. Result 1 week after culture in vitro, cartilaginous matrix was found in the chondrocyte - PGA complexes, no signs of PGA fiber biodegradation were observed. 4 weeks after implantation in vivo, the remainder of PGA fibers in new cartilage could be observed, But, 8 weeks after, it had disappeared. 12 weeks after implantation, the mature cartilages without PGA fiber remainder had regenerated. Conclusion PGA fleece scaffold could be used as a proper biodegradable material for the formation of allogenic tissue engineered cartilage.
