摘要

Abstract

The response equations of the models applied in well logging evaluation include some parameters of which selection are critical for the precision of well logging evaluation. The genetic algorithm is a self-adaptive global optimizing method and has the flexibility for solving various special cases. In this paper, a brief introduction of the theory and operation rules of the genetic algorithm was given. Then its potential application to the parameter estimation in the well logging interpretation was discussed using the Archie's formulas for water saturation estimation as an example. The results show that method is easy and effective for the application..
