摘要

Abstract

The existing widely used models of power transmission line icingin freezing precipitation are conceptually evaluated,and it is found that none of the model is both correct and complete in predicting design glaze ice loads. A simple model that can predict ice accretion in freezing precipitation based on the precipitation rate, wind speed, and the medium volume drop diameter is proposed. The ice loads predicted from this model are compared with those from other models, it shows that the simple model is as good as or better than those calculated by the detailed ice accretion computer models.
