Abstract
Objective:To sum up the experience of early management in extensively burned patients, to raise cure rate further. Methods :84 extensively bumed patients (body's area burned exceeding 50% TBSA) were retrospectively studied in our department from 1990 to 2002. Patients were divided into two groups according to whether they suffered it before or after January 1,1996. New measures were extensively applied after 1996. These measures consisted of rapid and adequate fluid resuscitation, early gastrointestinal feeding and micro - skin autografi after extensive eschar excision in one operation. Results:The incidences of sepsis and MODS were 37.2% and 20.9% respectively after 1996, wihch were evidently lower than those of the other group. Difference was significant between two groups (P＜0. 05 ) . The wound healing time was cut short and hospitalization time was shortened after 1996. Difference had statistical meaning. Conclusions:The new therapy can reduce the incidence of complications, shorten the course of treatment and increase the cure rate.关键词
