摘要
Abstract
Ovarian secretion of testosterone is a major source of androgen excess in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In pathogenesis of hyperandrogenism, the scholars focused on ovarian secretion of testosterone, but neglected adrenal gland as another organ which can secrete androgen such as dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), and they did less researches on whether the organ is also involved in PCOS. Moreover, androgen generally is transported in combination with sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) in the blood. The level of SHBG determines androgen bioligical activity. Therefore, synthesis of adrenal steroid hormones in PCOS is determinant in formation of hyperandrogenism. This article summarized researches in recent years on roles of adrenal hyperandrogenism in development of PCOS in order to provide theoretical basis for treatment of PCOS in clinic.关键词
