Abstract
Objective To find some reasonable signs for hearing pathway injury during different apnea times in guinea pigs by using the change of the auditory brainstem response (ABR) and brainstem function. Methods Twenty-six guinea pigs divided into 3 groups were tested with ABR audiometer and electrocaidio-pules-SO2 monitor during different apnea times. Results Wave Ⅴ was the most easily affected in apnea, Wave Ⅲ was also easily affected, and Wave Ⅰ was less affected. The time of apnea over 330 seconds caused the death of all the experimetal guinea pigs. Conclusion ABR may be used as an important measure to monitor the brainstem function during apnea. It is important to deal with the situation of the brain and heart as soon as possible.关键词
