Abstract
Forward error correction (FEC) can improve the performance of optical communications systems, for example, increase link distances, reduce transmitter power requirements and improve the sensitivity of the receiver. The properties of two kinds of FEC (In-band-FEC and Out-of-band FEC) are theoretically analyzed and contrasted with each other. FEC can be used in WDM optical network of different rate.关键词
