Abstract

The oxidative carbonylation of phenol to diphenyl carbonate catalyzed by a new Pd - Co catalyst system was studied. When the reaction is carried out at n(PdCl2):n[ Co( Ⅱ )] :n(TBAB):n(BQ) = 1:1:10:25, T = 120℃, P = 2.5MPa( PCo/Po2 = 4:1 ), reaction time = 8h, PdCl2 - Co(Pyca)2 has higher activity than PdCl2 -Co(OAc)2. The DPC yield is 6.03% for the PdCl2 -Co(Pyca)2 catalyst. The best temperature is 120℃ . The DPC yield is increased with the increase of total pressure. When the pressure reaches to 3.5MPa, the DPC yield is 8.52%.
