Formal analysis of the bubble phenomena of the second order relaxation scheme is presented when this method is applied to phase transition equations. The reason of oscillations is that the second order scheme can't find the discontinuities on the phase boundary. Based on this realization, a second order relaxation scheme is derived to eliminate it.
