Development Research for Bamboo Vinegar as Potential Plant Growth Regulator: Laboratory Test and Field Investigation

摘要

Abstract

The bioactivity of original and neutralized bamboo vinegar are screened by means of radish cotyledon, radish seedling, wheat seedling and cucumber seedling in laboratory. The results showed: (1) The bamboo vinegar of low concentration (500mg/L) effect as plant growth regulator stimulated growth similar to 2, 4-D herbicides; those of high concentration (2000~5000mg/L) inhibit growth as plant growth regular, the effect is similar to hormones herbicides, gibberellic acid (GA3) and 6-Benzylaminop-urine (6-BA). (2) The bioactivity of neutralized bamboo vinegar is higher than that of original bamboo vinegar. (3) The sensitivity of tested plants for screen bioactivity from high to low expressed as follows: radish cotyledon>cucumber seedling>radish seedling>wheat seedling. The sensitivity of root growth was higher than that of stem; The field experiments are carried out to test the stimulating effect of original and neutralized bamboo vinegar on apple, orange and strawberry in China. The results showed that Original bamboo vinegar and neutralized bamboo vinegar could add yield greatly; They could also improve leaf quality, prolong its natural life, increased the fruit hardness to improve its storage quality, make the fruit had better intrinsic quality and appearance; Original bamboo vinegar (OBV) and neutralized bamboo vinegar (NBV) could regulate maturing time of fruit and reduce rust spot, leaf falling, fruit dropping, disease.
