摘要

Abstract

Two anaerobic sequencing batch reactors (ASBR) were inoculated with anaerobically digested sludge. The reactor A (fed with polyquaternary ammonium salt) was compared with the reactor B (control) in order to contrast the development of granular sludge. Since start-up, the polyquaternary ammonium salt was added into the reactor A at interval of once per 2 d, and the mass ratio of polyquaternary ammonium salt to sludge was 1.6 mg/g. The results show that the avenge diameter of granular sludge m the reactor A is 0.72 mm within 73 d, reducing granulation times by approximately 25 d compared with the reactor B.The COD loading rate achieves 10g/(L·d) in the reactor A after start-up for 56 d, and the avenge diameter of granular sludge is bigger than the reactor B (0.55 mm). The granular sludge has higher methanogenic activity in the reactor A. Therefore adding polyquaternary ammonium salt into the ASBR can effectively enhance granulation.
