Abstract
BACKGROUND: Studies have demonstrated that buckwheat seed can lower blood glucose and blood lipid, and resist oxidation. However, studies on the effect of buckwheat leaf on lipid protein imbalance are lacking.OBJECTIVE: To explore the effects of total flavones of buckwheat leaf (TFBL) on blood lipid and lipid peroxides.DESIGN: Completely randomized controlled trial.SETTING, MATERIALS and INTERVENTIONS: The experiment was performed in the Department of Pharmacology, North China Coal Medical College, and the Department of Isotope, the Affiliated Hospital of North China Coal Medical College. A total of 30 SD rats, weighing (220 ±20) g each, clean degree Ⅱ, half males and half females, were selected. The hyperlipidemia model of rats was induced by high lipid feed and orally treated with TFBL for 12 weeks at the dosage of 0.3 g/(kg per day).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The effect of TFBL on blood lipid of rats with hyperlipidemia, and effect of TFBL on superoxidase dismutase(SOD) and malonaldehyde(MDA) in the serum and liver of rats with hyperlipidemia.RESULTS: Serum triglyceride, apolipoprotein B and low density lipoprotein cholesterol[ (0.49 ±0. 11), (0. 04 ±0.02), (1.78 ±0.31) mmol/L] in TFBL group of hyperlipidemia model rats were significantly lower than those in model group[ (0. 73 ±0. 15), (0. 06 ±0.02), (2.47 ±0. 13) mmol/L] (t=4.080, P <0.01; t=2.401, P <0.05; t=6,491, P <0.01).Compared with that of model group, the malonaldehyde content of serum and liver in TFBL group was notably lowered, too( t = 3. 888, 2. 667, P < 0.05).Meanwhile, TFBL could also improve the activity of serum SOD ( t = 2. 765,P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: TFBL has the effect of regulating blood lipid and resisting lipid peroxidation.关键词
