Asymptotic bifurcation of an everted Varga spherical shell
摘要
Abstract
It is well-known that a spherical shell may not stay spherical after eversion and it may prefer to adopt a wrinkled configuration. In this case, a bifurcation solution occur. In this paper, WKB method was used to analyse the buckling of an everted Varga spherical shell of incompressible, isotropic hyper-elastic material. For AB=O(1) a simple asymptotic expression is obtained for the critical ratio of the inner radius to the outer radius with the mode number large enough. The analytical results perfectly coincide with the numerical results over almost the whole mode-number regin.关键词
