摘要

Abstract

The static analysis of a deep four-pile pile cap that is designed using the strut-and-tie model (STM) approach and that failed in two-way shear is presented in a step-by-step manner. ANSYS software is used in the analysis, with input data obtained experimentally. Brief explanations of certain parameters are given to aid better understanding of the analysis procedure. The results clearly illustrate the load transfer mechanism in the deep pile cap and the subsequent failure mode of two-way shear. Graphical representations of solutions obtained from the analysis are explained, certain limitations and assumptions within which the analysis is performed are outlined, and finally, observations are made and suggestions are put forward.
