Influence of preparing processes on properties of the glisten glazes

摘要

Abstract

The optical characteristic of the glisten glazes is having metal-like mirror reflection of the incident light. It has been shown that the reflection is caused by CeO2 grains in the glaze. The CeO2 grains are preferentially oriented with (200) face parallel to the surface of the glaze. The larger the orientation factors F, the stronger the mirror reflection. The magnitude of F is mainly controlled by two conditions of preparing processes, one is the quantity of CeO2 grains, and another is the melting temperature of glaze. In this paper, samples of glisten glaze with very strong reflection(F=60%)were prepared.
