Abstract
Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of huaibaisan combined with clyster on treating ulcerative colitis and inves-tigates its mechanism.Methods: 79 patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group.The treatment group with 41 patients were given huaibaisan combined with clyster, the control group with 38 patients were given Sulfasalazine, the treatment courses of two groups both were 30 days. To observe the change of pathological finding by endoscopic observation, and determining the Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Malondiadchyde (MDA) in blood. Results: Compared with the control group, the clinical curative ef-fect of the treatment group surpasses the control group (P<0.05), the amelioration on hyperemia, edema, ulcer in colonic mucosa of the treatment group surpasses the control group (P<0.01) .After treatment, both the treatment group and the control group, activity of SOD in blood was significantly inceased (P<0.01) while level of MDA in blood was significantly deceased (P<0.01), and the effect of the treatment group surpasses the control group (P<0.05) .Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of huaibaisan combined with clyster on treating ulcerative colitis is significant, one of the mechanism is deceased level of the oxygen free radicals.关键词
