Abstract
Aimed on further understanding of the influencing factors for PNN saturation log, and widening the application of this technology, the influencing of factors, such as porosity, salinity, borehole on count rate were studied through MCNP simulation. The PNN saturation logging was also contrasted with pulse neutron-gamma logging. The theory for porosity defi-nition by PNN saturation log was researched. The influences of different factors on thermal neutron count rate have been shown. Compared to pulse neutron-gamma logging, PNN saturation logging has special advantages. The formula for definition of porosity at different conditions was proposed. The application of the technology in Dagang Oil Field showed that it had a se-ries functions in geological application, such as flooded area determination, remaining oil layers seek, gas layer recognition, low resistivity recognition, quantitatively calculation of oil saturation, porosity determination by neutron, lithology distinguish, etc.关键词
