摘要
Abstract
Wernicke's encephalopathy is an acute or subacute central nervous system metabolic disease which causes by seriously deficiency of vitamin Bn (VitB1), due to the long-term vomiting and feeding difficult. The pathology is punctuate hemorrhage and necrosis affecting the gray matter around the third and fourth ventricles and aqueduct of Sylvius, the cerebellum, the medial dorsal nuclei, the hypothalamic and the mammillary body. The main symptoms of this disease are ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and mental confusion. Immediate treatment can result in reversible, the delay in diagnosis and treatment possibly leaves the nervous system complication even though patient will die. Treatment begins with intravenous or intramuscular injection of VitB1 followed by comprehensive treatment.关键词
