Abstract

Bismuth sodium titanate (Bi1/2Na1/2)TiO3 (BNT) lead-free ceramics containing multiple A-site dopants were synthesized byconventional ceramic processing, and their electrical properties and mechanical properties were investigated to reveal the effects of the multiple A-site dopants on the BNT-based ceramics. In the case of (1-x)(Bi1/2Na1/2)0.900Ba0.088Sr0.012TiO3-x(Bi1/2K1/2)TiO3(x=0-0.14) ceramics, the maximum of the piezoelectric constant d33 (168 pC/N) was obtained for the x=0.10 composition. The dielec-tric constant ε33T/ε0, loss tangent tan δ and planar electromechanical coupling factor kp at 1 kHz and room temperature are 1221, 0.0361and 0.2281, respectively. The Curie temperature first increases with increasing x value and reaches the maximum value of 300℃ at the x=0.12 composition, then decreases with further increasing of the x value. The Vickers hardness and fracture toughness of theceramics.
