A NEW CRYSTAL GROWTH METHOD FOR THE GROWTH OF NEAR-STOICHIOMETRIC LiNbO3

Abstract
By means of temperature field computer design, a new crystal growth method called the hanging double crucible pulling method was developed. With a steady polyerystalline raw material feeding rate, near-stoichiometrie lithium niobate (NSLN) crystal (φ50 mm×50 mm) has been successfully grown in Li-rich melt (with Li2O mole fraction (the same below) of 58.5%). The absorption spectrum of the crystal shows that when the Li content reaches 49.87%, an obvious ultraviolet absorption edge shift occurs. The opti-cal homogeneity of the NSLN crystal was measured by a laser interferometer. Refractive index inhomogeneity (root mean square) An of the NSLN crystal is 7.250×10-5Cm-1.关键词
