补肾益气和活血祛瘀中药治疗血管性痴呆的实验研究
Experimental study of Chinese herbs for replenishing kidney, benefiting qi,activating blood circulation to remove stasis in treatment of vascular dementia

Abstract
BACKGROUND:Vascular dementia(VD)is commonly seen in senile dementia.The methods of replenishing kidney and benefiting qi and activating blood circulation to remove stasis are the common therapies in treatment of VD with Chinese medicine.But there are fewer researches on the comparison of the two methods. OBJECTIVE:To compare the effects of the recipe for replenishing kidney and benefiting qi(Recipe No.1)and the recipe of activating blood circulation to remove stasis(Recipe No.2)and probe into the mechanism of Chinese herbs in treatment of VD in rats. DESIGN:Completely randomized,controlled trial design. SETTING and MATERIALS:The experiment was performed in Research Room of Encephalopathy of Zhejiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Seventy-five normal SD male rats, in clean class, aged varied from 18 months to 20 months,weighing(400± 30)g were employed, provided and bred by the Experimental Animal Center of Zhejiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. INTERVENTIONS:Permanent ligature on bilateral common carotid arteries were done to made VD models in rats.It was to observe the effects of the medicine on learning and memory in rat model and on morphology and quantity of pyramidal cells in hippocampal CA1 area.RESULTS:①The diving scores in Recipe No.1 group:(2.24±0.17)sbfore model making,(2.73± 0.34) s 59 days after medication in model making and(2.35± 0.28) s 60 days after medication in model making.The diving scores in Recipe No.2 group:(2.41± 0.57)s before model making,(2.62± 0.41) s 56 days after medication in model making and(2.34 ± 0.44) s 60 days after medication in model making Recipe No.1 and No.2 remarkably improved learning and menory of VD rats.②Recipe No.1and No.2 can reduce the ischemic injury of pyramidal cells in hippocampal CA1 area,and such action was more remarkable in Recipe No.2.CONCLUSILN:①Both Recipe No.1and Mo.2 are the effective formulas in treatment of VD in rats,and Recipe No.2 can achieve better results.②The mechanism of Recipe No.2 is probably related to reducing the ischemic injury of pyramidal cells in hippocampal CA1 area.
