Investigation on the Status of Marine Materia Medica Resources and Research in China
摘要
Abstract
The status of marine materia medica resources in China was investigated by field survey, civil interview, together with history literature analysis. It indicated that the maine materia medica in China accumulated gradually during a long history of 3600 years, and the achievements of modern research on marine drugs were remarkable. Up to 2008, there were up to 684 varieties marine materia medica and potential medicinal resources investigated by modern pharmacology and chemistry including plant medica, animal medica and mineral medica of 205, 468 and 11 varieties, respectively. And the medicinal or potential marine organisms were up to 1 667 species (272 species of plants and 1 395 species of animals). In addition, there were 18 kinds of marine minerals. It is a feasible strategy for the exploitation of marine medicinal resources sustainably to strengthen the research on modern pharmacy, to protect existing medicinal resources and to exploit new medicinal bioresources.关键词
