Abstract

Objective: To examine the distributions and relationships between neurokinin B receptor like (NKR-Li) and FOS like (FOS-Li) immunoreactivity neurons qualitatively. Methods:Immunofluoresence histochemical double-staining technique was used and colocalization of NKR was investigated through serial adjacent section methods. Bandeiraea Simplicifolia Isolectin-B4 (BSI-B4)labelled primary afferent C fibers and terminals in the superficial laminae of the trigeminal subnuleus caudalis (Vc). Results: The immunostaining showed that intense FOS-Li and moderate NKR-Li neurons in the superficial laminae of medullae oblongata dorsal horn and their mainly part of the distribution were overlapped. Parts of the distribution of NKR-Li were obviously overlapped by the BSI-B4 labeled primary afferent C fibers and terminals. Additionally, few typical double-labeled neurons of KR-Li and FOS-Li were found. Conclusion: The present results suggested that NKR immunoreactivity neurons might be involved in the modulation of the primary afferent nociceptive stimulation information. But NKR-Li neurons were not stained for FOS, they may be unspecial nociception sensory internal neurons.
