Abstract
The International Conference on Pressure Vessel Technology(ICPVT), held every four years, is a good opportunity to view the world-wide new achievements and developing trends of pressure vessel technology, to strengthen international exchange and cooperation in this area, and to advance China's pre ssure vessel technology as well.There are altogether 1723 A4 pages of papers in the two- volume proceedings, covering all related aspects of pressure vessel technology, such as design, materials, manufacture, test, on-line monitoring and risk assess ment. This paper is a review of the worldwide current status and trends of the p ressure vessel technology based on an analysis of the numerous papers, and will be published in serial. The Part I consists of The general situation of the conference and the papers presented to the plenary sessions and the Part II,subject sith main concern (only subjects of fatigue and fracture presented).
