摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the causes of plate removal after platerigid internal fixation f or jaw fractures. Methods Fifty-three in 568 cases with plate placement for fixing fractures experienced the plate removal after operation. The reasons for plate r emoval were investigated. Results In 53 cases investigated, 17 psychological needs, 8 infecti on, 5 following doctor's advices, 4 skin or mucosa perforation, 4 plate fracture d , 4 nerve deficit, 3 obstruction for tooth implantation and 8 no significant cau ses. Conclusion Indication for plate removal after plate rigid inte rnal fixation for jaw fractures: (1) Screw flerible、plate fractured; (2) Skin or mucosa perforation or infection not healed for a long time; (3) Children or patients needed tooh implantation; (4) Second-operation in plate plantation area or plate placement interfering wi th denture repair; (5) Patients sen sitive to metal or with strong demand for pl ate removal.关键词
