Abstract

The effects of the indigenous actinomycetes on the phytopathogenic micromycete Fusarium avenaceum 7/2 colonization of the roots, and contamination of the seedlings of winter rye (Secale cereale L.)and red clover (Trifolium pratense L.)were studied in laboratory simulation experiments. Interpopulatinal relatinships in the rhizosphere of winter rye and red clover were examined. The results show that using the spores of Streptomyces hygroscopicus after the seeds were processed but before they were sown, the amount of phytopathogenic micromycetes mycelium decreased, the seedling contamination rate dropped by 60%-70% and the growth of roots was stimulated. In connection with ecological safety the capability to increase natural disease suppressive soil properties and stability of plants to pathogens using prokaryotes was discussed.
