Abstract
To assess the value of different methods in evaluating the degreeof invasion of pancreatic carcinoma to adjacent tissues and organs. Methods: Among 180 cases of pancreatic carcinoma detected by endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS), 60 cases possessed simultaneous data provided by US, CT and ERCP. The relative accuracy of the 4 imaging methods (EUS, US, CT and ERCP) in assessing the 7 parameters(serosal invasion, S; retroperitoneal invasion, rp; invasion to the intrapancreatic segment of the common bile duct, Ch; invasion to the duodenal wall, D; invasion to the portal venous system, PV; invasion to artery, A and lymph nodes metastasis, N) was studied. Results: EUS provided a higher accuracy(89%, 90%, 82%, 71%, 76%, 86%, 75%, respectively) than the other 3 methods. ERCP could only demonstrate the intrapancreatic segment of the common bile duct, and its accuracy in this respect was similar to that of EUS(80%). Conclusions: EUS is the method of choice in evaluating the degree of invasion in pancreatic carcinoma.关键词
