IN THE PRESENCE OF ADDITIVE

Abstract
Oxidant additive was used in preparation of activated carbon from caking coal. Under the cooperating effects of the additive and molasses, the softening and melting of the ca-king coal was restrained during carbonization. No swelling happened to the carbonized material and the outlook was smooth. The resultant activated carbon got a high iodine number. The carbon was deashed markedly by acid washing. The highest deashing rate was up to 55.36% and the highest deashing rate for the carbon non-treated with additive is only 35.12%.关键词
