Abstract
The possibility of Taihu Lake silt applied for the sheet molding compound filler was studied from the silt chemical and physical properties and its structure. XRF was used to analyze the chemical compositions, the mineral phases was analyzed by XRD, the particle size distribution was detected by photo size analyzer, SEM was used to observe the morphology of the silt, the structural specialties of the silt were characterized by IR and NMR, and the oil-absorbing value of the silt was also measured. These analyzed results showed that the chemical composition and mineral composition of the silt was suitable for a silicate filler of sheet molding compound. The D50 of Taihu Lake silt was similar to the calcium carbonate filler of sheet molding compound, and the organic groups of the silt contained made it easily combine homogenously with sheet molding compound resin, which also had a higher oil-absorbing value than the calcium carbonate. The Taihu Lake silt was suitable for sheet molding compound filler according to its up characters.关键词
