Abstract
In the present work, the yttrium_doped titania particles were prepared from Ti(OC4H9)4 and YCl3 by sol-gel processing and their solar ray photocatalysis characteristics to photoreduction of dyes were examined. The structure of the titania particles was analysed by XRD and IR methods. The results show that the photocatalytic activities of yttrium_doped titania particles are much higher than that of pure titania particles. The most efficient photoreduction of dyes is found with titania particles doped with 1.5% yttrium in mole. When yttrium reaches 2% in mole, a net decrease in photocatalytic activity is observed due to the precipitation of Y2O3.关键词
