Dynamic Sediment Environment of the North Branch of Changjiang Estuary
摘要
Abstract
The North Branch of Changjiang Estuary is a quas i-macrotidalestuary, which is funnel in shape. Its development is greatly cont r olled by the topographic feature, hydrodynamic conditions and sediment source. T herefore, the North Branch forms the complex sediment environment and sediment c haracteristics. This paper, based on the data of the sediments grain size analys is, expounds the distribution law of the surface sediments in the North Branch, and divides the dynamic sediment environments with a new triangular diagram adva nced by M.Pejrup. All of this would contribute to the understanding of the sedim entation mechanism of the North Branch, and provide scientific basis for develop ing the North Branch of Changjiang Estuary.关键词
