A NEW METHOD FOR THE OPTIMAL SELECTION OF TEMPORARY PLUGGING PARTICLES

摘要

Abstract

In oil or gas drilling operation,so as to efficiently protect oil or gas formation from damage by using temporary plugging technique,a new method for the optimal selection of temporary plugging particles(TPP)is suggested.Study result shows that the granularity distribution of TPP,as a kind of mechanical crushing particles,could be reflected by fractal geometry theory.So,for a certain formation,the optimal TPP can be chosen,which fractal dimension (D) is approximated to the one of the formation.The results of permeability recovery tests in laboratory show that the optimal TPP chosen by this method has a better protecting effect on the formation.The way how to measure and calculate D is also given.
