摘要

Abstract

Based on the 3 - D consolidation theory for homogeneous, saturated and poroelastic media by Biot, this paper, employing the corresponding variational principle, develops a finite element method for axisymmetric problems. As an exanple, procedure of soft- clay foundation reinforcement by means of the vacuum drainage technique for a sea-filling engineering in Malaysia is simulated.
