Abstract

Eupatorium adenophorum has strong allelopathy, and can suppress all plants around it. Flavonoid 3'-hydroxylase belongs to cytochrome P450(CYP) monooxygenase, which can catalyze oxidation reactions that depend on the substrate NADPH or NADH, and play an important role in plant allelopathy. Using F3'H gene transgenic tobacco as material, POD and PAL activities of transgenic tobacco were tested compared with that in control tobacco and transgenic tobacco with pBI121 vector. The results showed that POD activity value of transgenic tobacco with F3'H gene is 3.8 times to control tobacco, twice to transgenic tobacco transformed pBI121 vector, while PAL activity value of transgenic tobacco with F3'H gene is 4 times to control tobacco, twice to transgenic tobacco transformed pBI121 vector. So we speculate that F3'H gene is considered important for defense against exogenous damage.
