Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and outcomes of vitreotomy formacular pucker after retinal detachment surgery.Methods Twenty-five cases(25 eyes) with macular pucker after retinal detachment surgery presented significant visual loss and metamorphopsia. Vitreotomy followed by peeling of macular pucker were performed. The patients were followed postoperatively, visual function and complications were observed.Results Metamorphopsia were alleviated in 80% of all patients. Postoperatively,the visual acuity of 70% cases were better than 0.1. Preoperatively, only 28% of the patients had visual acuity better than 0.1. Complications included preretinal hemorrhage, residue of macular pucker, recurrent retinal detachment, nuclear cataract.Conclusion Vitrectomy combinded by peeling of macular pucker, which had fewer complications, was the effective therapy for macular pucker after retinal detachment surgery.关键词
