The current status of the awareness of AIDS in the migrant workers at a factory in Jiangmen

Abstract
Objective To explror the strategies for preventing and treating AIDS by surveying the awareness of AIDS in the migrant workers in Jiangmen City. Methods 200 migrant workers were selected by a random sampling method and were surveyed via questionnaires on their knowledge of AIDS prevention. Results The awareness rate of AIDS transmission was 51.27% in male and 57.4% in female 57.4%; and that of AIDS prevention was 49.4% in male and 56.1% in female. The way of acquiring information on AIDS was as follow: television 88.3%, print media 85%, Internet 76.7%. Conclusions of peasant workers to recognize the existence of AIDS transmission errors in the prevention of AIDS awareness and prevention capabilities to be strengthened, and the health sector need to increase migrant workers in the AIDS knowledge of health education to prevent AIDS, increase their awareness and ability to protect themselves.关键词
