摘要

Abstract

As a derivative product of gas insulated switchgear (GIS), gas insulated transmission line (GIL) has characteristics of high reliability, high transmission capacity and environment friendliness, and is considered as attractive alternative of the power cable and overhead line. This paper discusses the characteristics of GIL and its application feasibility to the power grid and power plants through investigating various existing projects with different implementation modes along the world, and it is believed that the development of the state-of-the-art GIL monitoring system for the emerging smart grid is a big trend in the near future.
