摘要

Abstract

In order to provide a basis for the design of UHVDC transmission lines, a research of the DC polution flashover characteristics of UHV transmission line insulators is carried out in the National Engineering Laboratory (at the altitude of 2 1 00 m)for UHV Engineering Technology, Kunming, China. Taking three kinds of insulators (porcelain, glass and composite insulator) as objects, this paper compares their flashover characteristics, and reaches a conclusion that the polution flashover voltage of composite insulator is higher than that of porcelain or glass, and thus the composite insulator is the best one for UHVDC transmission lines.
