摘要

Abstract

The modification of industrial activated carbon 4# ( AC4 ) with impregnated KOH and the adsorption capacities of KOH, Na2CO3, KI toward carbonyl sulfide( COS )were studied and compared,leading to the result: KOH > Na2CO3 > KI. The effects of reaction conditions were investigated. The fresh activated carbon and modified activated carbon before and after COS adsorption were characterized by SEM-EDS. The results showed that 10%( w% )of KOH was the best impregnation and the optimum condition was at 60 ℃ with 1.0% of oxygen content. Furthermore, SEM-EDS distribution indicated that the result of adsorption became obviously better by the change of pore structure of modified activated carbon and the formation of surface active materials.
