Preventive Effect of Aqueous Extract from Ficus simplicissima on Radiation-induced DNA Injury of Lung Cells in Mice

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the preventive effect of aqueous extract from Ficus simplicissima on 60Coγ ray-induced DNA injury of lung cells in mice. METHODS: The lung injury model was established by 60Coγ, ray whole lung irradiation. And the experiments included two parts, i.e. medication before radiation and after radiation. Each part had negative control group, radiation model group and high-dose, medium-dose and low-dose groups of aqueous extract from E simplicissima(20 g·kg-1, 10 g·kg-1,5 g·kg-1) via i.g. gtt. DNA damage was detected by single cell gel electrophoresis after 7 days of medication. RESULTS: The results showed that tail DNA% and tail moment of lung cell DNA in radiation model group were higher than those of negative control group (P<0.01). Tail DNA% and tail moment of the experimental groups were significantly lower than those in radiation model group(P<0.01). As the dose increased, the tail DNA% and tail moment reduced. CONCLUSION: Aqueous extract from E simplicissima have certain preventive effect on radiation-induced DNA injury of lung cells in mice.关键词
