Abstract
A model used to estimate the mass transfer of debenzothiophene (DBT) during its biodesulfurization by Microbacterium strain ZD-M2 in a stirrer reactor was proposed. The effects of the factors affecting the DBT mass transfer rate, such as the composition and the volume fraction of organic phase,temperature, cell concentration and stirrer speed, were studied. The results show that, among the above factors,the stirrer speed determines the oil-drop diameter directly and appears to be the most important factor governing the DBT mass transfer rate. Through the comparison between the mass transfer rate and the biodesulfurization rate,the control step of the biodesulfurization process was investigated. It was found that, at low stirrer speed and low DBT concentration, the DBT mass transfer rate affects the biodesulfurization process more, while under high DBT concentration and faster stirrer speed, the DBT mass transfer rate is much higher than the DBT desulfurization rate,and the rate of the microbial desulfurization process determines the overall desulfurization rate.关键词
