Influence of Templates on the Phase Composition, Morphology and Optical Performance of CdS Microcrystalline Prepared by Microwave Hydrothermal Process

Abstract
Cadmium sulphide (CdS) microcrystallites with different morphology had been prepared by microwave hydrothermal(M-H) process using cadmium chloride and sodium thiosulfate as raw materials and citric acid, ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), hexamethylenetetramine and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as template.The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy ( SEM ), EDS and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).The optical properties of the prepared CdS microcrystallites with varied shape were characterized by ultraviolet-vis.The results show that the spherical, flower-like and rod-like CdS crystals could be prepared using different templates, and the as-prepared products are well crystallized.Obvious blue-shift are observed in the UV-Vis absorption of CdS products.关键词
