Abstract

This paper put forward an accurate method of calculating energy production of wind turbine based on WASP. First, the wind atlas was obtained through the analysis of the wind velocity data for selected wind turbine regions by using WAsP OWC Wizard tools. Then the simulated wind turbine station was established on the digital map of a given area. Furthermore, the power characteristic of wind turbine can be derived by WAsP Turbine Editor Tools. Finally, an example of using wind turbine to calculate the relative statistics is provided to better explain the method. As this method is fully based on the power characteristics of wind turbines and the wind atlas of wind farms, the result is more precise and reliable. With the help of WAsP software, the calculating process can be simplified to satisfy the engineering application.
