Abstract
Objective To explore current status of first-aid capabilities of rural residents in Wenchun earthquake disaster area and to provide references for universal first-aid training.Methods A cross-sectional survey with a self-designed questionnaire was conducted among 222 family members of the patients.Data of general information, ways of obtaining first-aid knowledge and skills,first-aid knowledge were collected.Results The average score of on-site rescue as a whole was (5.19±2.29).Broadcast and television were principal methods of obtaining first aid knowledge for rural residents in earthquake disaster area.Conclusion It is necessary to improve first-aid capability for rural residents in Wenchuan earthquake disaster area and it is urgent to extend education of basic first-aid knowledge and skill trainings.关键词
