Bioinformatics analysis of SBP-box gene family in rice

Abstract
The SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN–LIKE (SBP) proteins compose a family of transcriptional regulators present exclusively in plants. In this study, we identified 20 SBP-box transcription factor-encoding genes in the rice (Oryza sativa) genome. An analysis of a complete set of SBP-box proteins in rice is presented, including classification, chromosomal location, conserved motifs, and phylogenetic relationship. Relative expression of all these genes has been analyzed by using Affymetrix rice genome array?. The results reveal specific expression of SBP-box protein encoding-genes during floral transition as well as panicle and seed development. No SBP-box transcription factor-encoding genes in rice displayed differential expression patterns in rice seedlings in response to abiotic stress. This information will be important for functional characterization of SBP transcription factors in rice.关键词
