Removal of hydrogen sulfide from natural gas with activated carbon desulfurizer

Abstract
Activated carbon modified with CuO for removal of H2S from natural gas was prepared by impregnation. Effects of preparation conditions on the desulfurizing performances of CuO/AC desulfurizer were investigated. The optimum preparation conditions were determined as follows: active component Cu mass fraction of 5.0%, calcination temperature of 350℃ and calcination time of 1.0-2.0 h. The sulfur capacity of the desulfurizer prepared under the optimized conditions could reach 20.80%. When at a gas hourly space velocity of 600-800h-1, temperature of 20℃ and atmospheric pressure, the prepared desulfurizer showed better desulfuriztion effect than RGM from abroad.关键词
