Effect of Notch-1 on expression of BDNF in olfactory ensheathing cells

Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of Notch-1 on the expression of BDNF in olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs), so as to provide experimental basis on enhancing the recovery ability of OECs.Methods: Active Notch plasmid (NotchICV), inactive Notch plasmid (NotchVK) and empty plasmid were transfected into OECs.Immunofluorescence, RT-PCR and Westem blot were used to detect the expression changes of BDNF and its mRNA.Results: The expression of BDNF and its mRNA in the NotchICV group was increased compared with those in the NotchVK group and control group; however, there was no difference between the NotchVK group and control group.Conclusion: After Notch-1 being transfected into OECs, the expression of BDNF increases.It suggests that Notch-1 could improve the synthesis and secret of BDNF.关键词
