根据拉萨藏族儿童青少年掌指骨参数进行性别判定
Gender assessment according to metacarpal and phalange in the Lhasa*

Abstract
Objective: To establish the equations for gender assessment by using X-ray to measure the metacarpal and phalange. Methods: With the informed consent, 1 360 samples aged 7 to 20 years (male 674, female 686) were randomly selected in the Lhasa area. The finger and metacarpal length, the width of metacarpal and marrow cavity were measured by X-ray. The data were analyzed by SPSS 16. 0 software. Results: According to the contribution of parameters of metacarpal and phalange in the equation, we obtained the equations of gender assessment fit to different ages. The change of accuracy of equations was not obvious during growth and development period. The accuracy was between 56.9％-82.9％ before 17 years, and was above 80％ after 17 years. Conclusion: We compared the length of metacarpal and phalange, and width of metacarpal and bone marrow cavity for gender assessment, and the equations have a certain practical reference value in the application of forensic anthropology.关键词
